Conference USA Commissioner Judy MacLeod announced Wednesday that UAB junior distance runner Hannah Coffin is one of 14 student-athletes to be named a Fall Spirit of Service Award winner.

UAB cross country senior Lucy Crookes was one of six runners named to the Conference USA Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Friday.

Lucy Crookes finished in 41st place to lead UAB at the NCAA South Regional Championships Friday morning from the Harry Pritchett Running Park.

The UAB cross country team will make its push for an invitation to the NCAA Championships Friday at 9 a.m. when the Blazers take part in the NCAA South Regional Championships from the Harry Pritchett Running Park in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Fueled by a 12th place finish from senior Lucy Crookes, the UAB cross country team raced to an 11th place finish Saturday morning at the Conference USA Championships from Spero Kereiakes Park.

In the final meet before Conference USA Championships, the UAB cross country team makes the short trip southwest to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to take part in the Crimson Classic Friday at 5 p.m. from the Harry Pritchett Running Park.

The UAB cross country team recorded a 10th place individual finish and a 12th place effort to highlight the Blazers’ showing at the Greater Louisville Classic.

The UAB cross country team will run in its third meet of the season this weekend when the Blazers travel to the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky.
