With one week of practice under their belt, the Tulane cross country program is set to compete in their first meet of the season on Friday, as they travel across town for the UNO XC Relay Opener, hosted by the University of New Orleans.

The East Carolina cross country program kicks off the 2013 season at the Covered Bridge Invitational hosted by Appalachian State in Boone, N.C. on Friday, August 30.

The UAB cross country team will open the 2013 season in Troy, Ala. on Friday night at the Troy Invitational. The 3k race is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.

The Tulsa men's cross country team is ranked No. 5 in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Preseason Coaches' Poll released Tuesday.

The 2013 Conference USA cross country season is set to get underway this weekend. Nine teams will compete in various meets, while Tulsa will play hostess to the Hurricane Cross Country Festival Friday.

Interested prospects should pick up an information packet from the track office in Holliday Hall by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
