Rice junior track and field athlete Scott Filip will enter Sunday in sixth place in the decathlon at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials after racking up 4,180 points Saturday in his first career Olympic Trials.
The U.S. Olympic Team Trials returns to the University of Oregon's Hayward Field this week from June 30-July 10 where current and former Owls will be vying for Team USA selections for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
