The Florida Atlantic University track and field team faced more than 500 athletes from 17 schools across the country over the weekend for the 10th annual Akron Invitational at the University of Akron's Stile Athletics Field House.

Standout performances over the weekend by men's basketball's Pablo Bertone and track and field's Sitia Martinez led both teams over the weekend earning the pair Florida Atlantic University's honor of student-athlete of the week.

Freshman Sitia Martinez recorded her first win in only her second indoor meet since joining Florida Atlantic University's track and field team at the Hilton Garden Invitation over the weekend.
